The VISION
Mountain of Blessings Christian Center

Habakkuk 2:2 - Then the Lord answered me and said: "Write the vision and make it plan on tablets, that he may run who reads it." (NKJV)

THE VISION:

The vision of the Mountain of Blessings Christian Center (formerly Mt. Gerizim) is:

"To take this city for Jesus by taking the Gospel to them that are bound that they may be free by the power of Jesus Christ and to teach the Word of God with clarity and understanding."
(Mark 16:15 - 18)

We have purposed to fulfill this vision by working to establish the following:

The City of Refuge
Purpose: To provide transitional home to underprivileged members of the community by offering structure, shelter and employment. (Luke 10:25 - 37)

• Shelter and Employment - to allow those who want to get off the street the opportunity.
• A Home that provides a Christian environment where they can be taught the Word of God on a daily basis.
• A staff minister will live on site and manage the program.
• Phase I of this plan (The Church) will provide employment through its own Landscaping Company, etc. (Proceeds will help defray the cost of the ministry and provide income to its participants.)
• Phase II of this plan will help participants to secure jobs outside of the program.
• Phase III of this plan will help participants to secure their own housing.

The Community Center
Purpose: To provide children with a Christian environment conducive to improving themselves.  (Mark 10:13 - 14).

• Will be strategically placed in an area that will provide computer access to those who are not able to afford it.
• Will provide free tutoring services at all educational levels.
• Will provide assistance with homework.
• Will offer an After-school program.

Primary Academy
Purpose: To provide top-notch, affordable Christian education to raise up a new generation of Christian leaders. (Proverbs 22:6)

• Christian School for grades K-12.
• Scholarship program: For low-income families who otherwise cannot afford to participate.

Daycare
Purpose: To provide parents with safe Christian environments in which to leave their children while they are working.

• The children will be taught Biblical principles to be used as a foundation for educational development in preparation for continued education through the Primary Academy.

Lazarus Ministry
Purpose:  To help people who are coping with substance abuse issues.

• This ministry is designed to provide Christian instruction and encouragement that will foster the turning around of their lives. (This program is currently in the implementation stage.)

Prison Outreach
Purpose: To assist in the transition from the penal system to everyday life.

• Transitional living quarter: either at the City of Refuge or assist with independent acquisition.
• Counseling and Education
• Bible study specific to their issue (Matthew 25:31 - 40)

Mercy House - (This program is still being developed)
